Dogs may give us those irresistible puppy dog eyes, but many festival foods can be toxic to them, leading to vomiting, diarrhea, or even severe damage to their kidneys or pancreas.

A quick search will reveal a list of human foods to avoid, but the simplest way to ensure your dog stays safe but also happy this Christmas is to stick to their regular dog food and treats. If you want to include your pets in the celebrations, why not try some homemade, healthy dog food recipes?

1. Festive Chicken Muffins

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Mix all ingredients in a bowl until combined.

  3. Pour the mixture into a muffin tray.

  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened peanut butter

  • 1/4 cup coconut flour

  • 1/4 cup rolled oats

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes

Instructions:

  2. Roll the mixture into small balls.

Instructions:

  2. Spoon into silicone molds or ice cube trays.

  3. Freeze for at least 3 hours.
